Are there other uses for the KoolPlate™ in the histology laboratory?

Simport’s KoolPlate™ can also be used to pre-condition tissue being prepared for cryo-sectioning. Once the tissue has been received at the grossing station and a small representative portion cut, it can be placed on a frozen KoolPlate™ to precool it before and while being brought to the cryostat. This way, once set on a cryostat object holder with the cryo-embedding solution, the whole system will cool faster and enable quicker sections to be produced.
