Why there is no filter for Cytosep® Mega funnels M965-40?

Cytosep® MEGA M965-40 funnels are designed to be used without filters. The funnel itself has a sealing joint that seals the funnel to the microscope slide. The smear occurs in the liquid phase and when the centrifugation is completed, the liquid must be decanted before removing the funnel from the slide. This configuration was chosen because the sample volume allowed by this funnel model (up to 6 ml) is too large to be absorbed by a filter.
